What's the average price to powdercoat wheels (high quality) ?
what exactly is "powder-coating"?
is it more resistant to high temperatures and chipping than a regular paint job done on the body?
or is it prone to chipping with time?
thanks!

I paid 240 at a place that does a lot of indy car stuff here in indianapolis.
powder coating is much more durable than normal car paint. It is also much thicker. The "paint" comes out of a gun that blows powder at the part. There is an electrostatic charge applied to the part to make the powder stick. THen the part is baked to make the powder stick to the part and to the rest of the powder.
If its done right you can hit it with a hammer and it wont chip off.

Does the price depend on how bad of a condition the rims are in? My rims are totally messed up, chipped, scratched, missing a little bit of metal....how much would something like that cost to get fixed up (sandblasted, powder coated) Thanks!

the reason they call it powder coating is because, its just that.
special process where the paint is atomized to the point of being very fine it would travel through the air like "powder".
much like any other paint, the finer grade and quality of the paint, the better the adhesion.
