How can you identify type-r cams? I did some searches and couldn't really find anything concrete.

i was a noob once, might still be a little....searching is a good tool, but to answer your question....I think the intake end where the Dis is has 3 bands on it...i cant remeber if mine had 3 or 2 before i got my skunk 2.... hope it helps....if it has 3 though im pretty sure its R
