The nut right next to cylinder #4 on the valve cover seems to be stripped and just keeps spinning and spinning. i can't get it off!! anyone ever done this before? i need help!

and also if i just hack it off, would i be able to replace the bolt under? and how hard would it be to do so? thanks.

 

Yes you can replace the bolt, it's very easy.

 

really? cuz it kind of looks like the bolt under is attached to the head some how. dont really remember. i already bought another nut and washer, but not the bolt.

 

You will most likely to get a new bolt if stripping occured. It is a 2 sided bolt threaded on both ends. Take a 10mm socket and take the old one off and just install the new one in its place. You will need the valve cover off when doing this of course.

 

really? it's just a double sided bolt? i have an h22. is it the same thing? and would u also happen to kno whether it's a long one or short one? cuz last time i went to honda, he asked me whether it was the long one or short one and i had no idea.

Part number 14/15 is what I am thinking you need.
I pulled the list up for the h22 but it doesn't show the bolt... They should be the same. I've swapped them out from a D sereis to a B series before with no problems.

do u kno if it would be part #10 or 9?? that's the exact same picture that the guy at honda showed me but i wasn't sure if it was the longer one or shorter one.

 

Why dont you just take your valve cover off and then find out? Either way it's stripped and you have to replace it. I couldn't tell you which bolt it is since I cant see it.
