all I know is that it locked up on me, it's not the axels, check them out put a ls tranny on for know that's working fine...

It would only let the car move about 6 inches and then it will lock up.

example: when you put a automatic car in park, and then it rolls foward and locks up cause of the tranny...

Can you shift gears? Can you start the car? Can you put the shifter in neutral and roll with that? If the car doesn't roll in neutral, then it very well could be the differential...

Then it is fo sho' not the diff. As you know that bad boy spins the axles, and if it broke the car would roll freely.(mine did.) Then again yours could have broke and locked up. Easiest thing for you is to call Nippon Motors, they sell JDM L3's 20 or 21 spline for cheap, and are in sweet shape.

exploded diff, side gears (outside of the diff) are preventing the car from moving.

I have 6 B cable trannys on hand that suffered the same fate.

Is anybody else havin problems reading this guys posts or is it just too early in the morning for me? Is this car a true ef9 rhd civic? or is it a converted one? or am I way off base and it's a just a b-swap? or is it a stock one? All I can say is you have to start takin it apart and check out everything till you find it, or hire someone to do it for you, if you can't. Start with the easy stuff first ie; the axles, did you blow a tulip out, inner and outer check, clutch cable broken? then if it's not those and it's internal the tranny needs to come out, and be checked by someone who knows what he's lookin at maybe it's just an exploded clutch, who the hell knows with the amount of info you've given out? I mean this post borders the ridiculous

My tranny did that too. Actually I bought the car with a blown tranny also which did the same thing... On the first one, third gear was blown to hell. It was so bad that I couldn't even get in any gears, wouldn't roll at all (like the auto-park situation) even with the clutch in or in neutral. Third gear was just so torn up that the shafts wouldn't spin. I guess the guy was racing, let out the clutch a little to early going into third; bam.

Second situation was just the 5th gear synchro ring. Thats the thing that 'clicks' going into a gear, and what keeps you in that gear going down the road. Its just a little ring between the synchro and the synchro sleeve. I was taking off, pretty decent launch, and the thing just locked up. Killed the motor and all that. Got 5th gear syncrho assembly off of that first tranny and it works fine now.
