I own a 92 hatch cx and im going to go d16z6 soon...and i was wondering...if i looked into my "shock towers" would i find the "wirings" for the vtec? Please show me some pictures, i really want to know what it looks like.
i'm pretty sure your gonna wire your car for vtec. The vx's are already prewired and so are the 92-95 si's

All 92 civics are prewired for VTEC, but I'm not sure where it is and I don't have a pic.

Yes...can anybody prove that this 92 hatch prewire thingy is true? Pictures please?
my car was wired from the shock tower to my ecu..i have a 92 dx..the only wire wasnt wired was the knock sensor...

Go pop your hood, and see if you have these two wires...
these is in a VX, so it had them, but if you do too then there you go.
The orange and white is vtec solenoid
and the orange and blue is vtec oil pressure

Very simple...No need to search for wires....get the d16z6 engine harness and plug it into your exsisting harness(the one that comes through firewall on bat. side)
plugs right in, plug into your motor blah blah blah....Done(as long as you get p28 ecu also) i did this in my 92 cx..removed motor/installed new motor n test drove within 4 hrs of start...pics of completed project in sig.

Seems to me that looking for two wires in a canon plug would be a thousand times easier than removing a wiring harness and then replacing it. But that's just me.

seems to me that he already said hes got a 92 cx and we already know that it has wires for vtec but (no need to look 4 it)...what he has to do is replace the engine harness because (correct me if im wrong) the engine harness on the non-vtec models does not have a plug for vtec solenoid just hangin out there
i just did same swap and took me less then 4 hrs(counting a few smoke breaks)
to remove sohc zc and install d16z6 using the engine harness that came with the motor and my cx car harness and p28..

This was the case with my 92 CX. The BODY harness was indeed pre-wired, but the engine harness lacked VTP/VTS connectors and wiring.

If all 92 hatches have the vtec prewired...but no plugs for the vtec solenoid...then whats the use?

the vtec wires are in the Body harness, you use your factory body harness and the d16z6 engine harness all the plugs match right up, get a p28 ecu and your done...
