How high of a compression are you talkin about? My old car ran 11.2:1 comp with a pyr p&p head, the original batch of skunk2 cams, jdm 4-1 headers, etc., and I passed with no problem. I was runnin it on a tad on the lean side though.

i run a high compression ls-vtec and i live in AZ and our emissions really suck here and i passsed smog no problem and my compression is roughly 12.5 to 1 so it all depends on how you tune it when you take it to the smog dogs

I think it's more of a matter on what you can run on the road with pump **** without race gas.

from what I understand the only measure carbon monoixde going into the atmosphere and timing. You could also adjust your timing and lower your fuel pressure to try and meet those specs.

Or get a different car with a stock motor and swap the plates and VIN #. Yeah it sounds illegal but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep your car on the road, LOL
