I have a 89 Crx with a 96 jdm b18c type R swap and my alternator just went. Bumper to Bumper wants $570!!!!!!!! and thats for a "USDM" type R. Will the USDM alternator work?? sorry this might sound dumb but i know that they did not have type r's in the US in 96'. Please help!!!!!

A USDM one will work.

Check out http://www.Autolinkmotorworks.com they have it, i personally saw about 6 of them today sitting there. Tell them Arno sent you, and they'll take care of you.

don't spend that much on an alternator. You can get one here on h-t from someone for 60$.

USDM is the same alternator...

yes, any B series alternator will work.

 

Not all b-series will work. They have different plugs. Some have round plug and some have the square. I think the square may be only for 99-oo Civic Si's and MAYBE 01+ ITRs.
