If i did the labor myself, how much would an auto-manual swap cost me?
1996 Accord LX.
I want to get a 5 spd. into it, because the auto really sucks and I think its dying anyway.
motor has 85k miles, how much would it cost me (not cheapest quote, but average price) for tranny and all the parts needed to complete this swap?
I have a mechanic friend who would help me out, and I have access to a lift and air tools.

well i have a h22, and i picked up a h23 tranny for 200 and the rest of the parts for another 200. something are better new then used, like a slave and a master clyinder for the clutch.
i wont be doing an h22 swap, because those motors are just too expensive.
i do, on the other hand, want to get a stock 94-97 5 speed that came with the f-series motor and put it on.
just curious on how hard this is to accomplish.

more timie consuming than anyhting, although it cost me much more than what it cost them
