gas questions
on a stock gsr... yes u can... personally i would put in the best stuff... i just dont trust the cheap gas... u spent all that money on the car... id only give it the best
well, because in the GSR we have high compression engines, the higher octane fuel does work better than regular.
you have a knock sensor in your engine, when that detects detonation because your ignition is advanced too far for the fuel/comp ration combo it will retard the timing.
this will result in poorer acceleration and probably a loss of fuel economy as well.

to add to it... lower octane fuel burns faster than higher octane fuel... so if u figure it all out... ull be buying tanks of gas more often with the cheaper fuel... so in the end its all about the same amount of money
I hadn't read this post before responding to the other one. I thought lower grades actually had more energy / unit and therefore if the car could use a lower grade would get better mileage. Anyone have any knowledge of this?
From my experience, I got 1-2 mpg better mileage when I used lower grade. Of course I didn't have full power output (maybe I just drove easier because I knew I didn't have max power).
