Default Took the RSX to the track...

Well I was bored yesterday so I went to "Test & Tune" night at the drag strip and tore the RSX-S up. My brother had let me bring it out before, but I was only able to hit 15.5's or higher which IMO is a little slow. I met my cousin there who has an early 90's convertable stang. There were alot of 2nd gen Integras this time around, but most were in the 16-17 sec range. Anyway, here are the timeslips in the order they were run:

60 ft.-2.608
1/8et-10.263
1/8m-77.71
1/4et-15.483
1/4m-96.56

60 ft.-2.470
1/8et-9.949
1/8m-78.36
1/4et-15.150
1/4m-96.81

60 ft.-2.450
1/8et-9.906
1/8m-78.26
1/4et-15.126
1/4m-96.18

60 ft.-2.382
1/8et-9.852
1/8m-78.40
1/4et-15.063
1/4m-96.16

I'd say the car did rather well. The car is all stock except for an AEM cold air intake. All of you RSX owners know that these stock tires suck and it made it hard to launch. The last three races were all roll starts from a really low rpm, but the first one was a high launch. I can't stand all the wheel hop it gets from 1st to 2nd gear, but hey it's not my car! Hopefully my brother will get some better tires and I don't see any reason why it won't hit at least a 14.9; I can't wait...

-Ben

ya....Hondata, headers, exhaust and much sticker/better tires will help. Definately low 14's with that, high 13's if your bro can slam gears like a madman

But nice times nonetheless

How can you get a 96 trap with just an intake? Something doesn't sound right.

The rims are fairly light. Just slap some Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's on and you're set.

those trap numbers are VERY strong for 15 second passes. With that you should be in the mid 14s.

Thanx all for the responses...I was surprised since this sat far atleast a day. I did notice that the trap speed is high, but I hit 94 in my Del Sol, which runs 15.0 too. But the thing about my del sol is that it has good tires so I can launch at like 3-4K and just led foot it. On the other hand, with the RSX I had to half-throtle it until about 3K because it would get crazy wheel-hop if you got on it too early. It was a learning experience, but like I said if I could launch the RSX then I could see definite mid 14's. Anyway thanks again...
