i was just wandering if anyone has ever tried to wire in heads up displayinto their crx or civic before. i think it would be pretty neat if you could i think you would have to get a stand alone system to run it but it would be nice thanks
i had a defi unit.. loved it.. but it was blue..
got pulled over one time and the cop gave me **** about it, even though you can't see it from outside the vehicle.. he said the 6 small LED's were not allowed.. i was pissed..

I have the Defi Unit installed in my CRX.....Here is a shot of where is it on the Dash and the Control Unit.....
Funny that I went to take the pictures, and I find my hood is popped and my Alarm Siren wires are cut.
Guess its time for a new Alarm, Anywayz I love the HUD its really nice not to have to look down at the Speedo.

No. There is actually a "new" model out called a VSD Sports. It does more than the VSD II (which I have). The Sports does digital clock, drag race, elapsed trip time, trip mileage and trip countdown mileage as well as Speedometer/Tachometer. The normal VSD II does digital/analog Speedometer/Tachometer.
Defi also makes a boost meter and turbo timer and a Field Compass.
I have had the VSD II for over 2 years now and I love it! I cut a hole in the gauge cover to comply with a law that forbids any thing on your window above 6". I used to have it sitting so the HUD was between the driver and passanger, but I started get a LOT of tailgaters at night. I never use those LED's... they are WAY too bright for my liking and really don't tell me much info anyway.

Had.
I got rid of it about a year ago. The tach was a bit too slow for me, however, I wouldn't mind having the shift lamps again.
I got video of it working if anyone wants it.
Pros -
- Easy to install
- pretty visible
- blingbling factor (not that i care, but, sometime's it's nice to have what others didn't know existed for cars)
Cons -
- Not overly functional as the MPH was off all the time
- Tach was slow
- always in direct sunlight

No Autozone alarm for me........An old Skool Sidewinder with alot of Upgrades to **** Theives off.
Some new add ons were done just today as I had a break in, should be good to go now
=========
In response to what Driven had to say, the Tach Feature moves Extremely slow......Altho the MPH Reading is pretty Quick, and keeps up well.....The Difference between the Actual Speedometer and the Defi Unit is anout 2mph, at least in my car.(YMMV)
I like having it, Its functional with Daily Driving so I dont have to keep glancing down at the speedo, I have a piece of Window Tint to see if I can Darken the area it reflects off of for more visbility in the day time.
Overall it gets 2 Thumbs up from me, can't wait to see what the New Unit looks like and has to offer when its released.
