Default h22 swap in a Prelude S automatic (already searched)

im still a noob and im just lookin to learn. i have a 93 prelude s auto and i am buying a h22 that needs to be honed out, possibly resleeved, new piston ring on one of the cylinders. he is selling it to me for 500 and i plan putting it in my auto prelude. i know that manuals are better and i wish i could sell mine and get one but i still prolly wouldnt be able to afford one. so i am wanting to know what to expect by doin this and what i need to prepare to do before installing the motor. the tranny is a f22 automatic tranny. dont be too harsh on me...just trying to learn and use the resources that are available to me. any information will be appreciated.

and also will any of the parts change over from the f22 to the h22.

you'll just be wasting your time and money

you can afford to resleeve and re-ring an h22a etc and do a swap, but you cant afford a manual tranny?

i cant even imagine how long the gears would be with an h22a with an f tranny auto, maybe 90mph in 2nd gear, its not worth it

do it the right way with a complete swap or why bother? dont get an h22a just for the sake of getting one

not hard, just need to supply all the parts.

you're not doing the swap right? so its just a matter of how much, not how hard.

some things off the top of my head you'll need for the swap.

clutch line, clutch cylinder, pedals, shift linkage, manual ecu, might as well put in a new clutch, maybe others that i just forgot.

the friend that is sellin me the motor, has a thing to program the ecu, so hopwfully that would eliminate having to buy the manual ecu.

would there be any cutting into the car and
am i able to do the tranny swap myself or would i need a professional to do it.

i got a complete h22a swap into my manual for 3k. who knows how much it would cost to convert from an auto. ive done a conversion swap into a 89 crx before. but its a totally different set up in a prlude.

If you can get the tranny go ahead with the manual swap...it will be best.

You need a manual ecu, you don't really have a choice as the F22 ecu won't work for **** on the H22a anyway you wouldn't have VTEC.

Exactly, You cannot run the F22 auto tranny on the H22A engine without the F22 Ecu, and what was mentioned above is it not even close to being an ideal ecu for an H22. Get the manaul tranny or you are just wasting your money.
