i was thinkin maybe its possible to keep them from being able to drive it away by a method used for autostarting a manual. have a switch that will trick the clutch into thinking its depressed so that you can start the car without having to depress the clutch urself. now if you can make it so you rig a switch somewhere that will keep the clutch depressed at all times, then the car would never be able to go into gear, making a successful "pedal" kill switch. but i would say just opt for a fuel and starter kill switches. they are used and successful. but hey the clutch thing could work too

Nope, its a lock that goes over your pedal.

you do know that people have made it so they electronically "cancel" out the clutch and make the car thnink that it has been pressed in right? its called putting in remote start on a 5 speed.

And the car doesn't go into gear because of this?

Come to think of it I bet if you had a manual switch to control the brake lights, the brakes would engage too! It'd be so cool... You could lock them up with the flip of a toggle.

Actually I hear that if you cut out the metal around your accelerator pedal you can make the car go faster. There's another mod you might wanna try.

A clutch is NOT an eletrical system. Without a physical force to press the clutch down, it will not disengage. 1blachhatch is correct.

If you leave your car in 1st gear and use an autostarter the car will try to start in gear. Thats why they only sell them for auto's..
All of the old cars (like muscle cars and such) could start in gear. Later they put switches on the clutch to kill the ingition if it wasnt pressed in when starting.
My car will start in gear because it doesnt have the switch on the clutch.
