Yesterday I was bored and so I tested some tranny ratio possibilitys in Gran Torismo 3. We all know this game shows pretty the true results. Note this are true KmH and the analog tach will show off in top speed about 10kmH and the tachs inaccurate depends on your tire diameter too. I dyno tested my top speed at REAL 241 kmH @8400rpm in 5th gear with tire diameter 590mm (stock is 595mm). My tach reads 251kmH at the dyno. I´m sure with the stock tire diameter I can reach the GT3 tested 246kmH. Cool eh?!

5th 0.846 is USDM spec and 0.787 is JDM/euro spec
USDM: 4.400 in 5th (0.846) gear--> Vmax: 255kmH
Spoon: 4.643 in 5th (0.846) gear--> Vmax: 235kmH
JDM: 4.785 in 5th (0.787) gear--> Vmax: 246kmH
Spoon: 4.857 --not tested--
USDM: 4.400 in 5th (0.787) gear--> Vmax: 270kmH



very short tranny (but the 1st is hella long!)

With the short Spoon cross-gears I was about 0.30 faster! in the 1/4 mile acceleration.

There is a bug in GT3: The Acura ITR has the JDM spec gear ratios.

Take an ls 5th gear 0.714 to the final 4.400 and rev up to 9000 (500revs are good for 15 kmH) and you are above 300kmH!!!!!! I need a turbo with 400hp please!
