Default B-block Intake on a D-block motor... What to expect? Help!

I can't modify my engine internally (SCCA IT racing) so I'd like to work the intake a bit. Two Part Question:

Will a B-block intake (B18A, for instance) fit onto the D-block? Is the spacing the same? I realize that there will probably be some matching to do and the mount holes won't line up, but would like to know if it's possible.

Should I expect to see any improvements (breathing and fuel delivery) by putting the B intake on the D-block?

Any help is appreciated...

won't fit. the best intake manifold i think for the d-series would be one from a 96-00 ex that will work for u, unless of course u already have a 96 up ex.

If rules allow, port the D-series intake manifold. The key will be increasing plenum volume as much as you can... grind it until the metal is 0.001" thin if you can! Just make sure the intake manifold port isn't larger than the head port. The throttle body opening should be very close to the same size as the t/b port on the intake but not any smaller.

Non of these mods are allowed per SCCA IT rules. I assume the car is a 88-91 SI? If so you have to use an 88-91 SI intake. It can only be port matched within one inch of the flange. No porting of the throtle body or TB side of the manifold.

The car's a '93 EX Coupe. The '94 and '95's were just recently classified by Denver (now Topeka) in ITS. The '93 will follow...

Yep, yer right about the 1" rule.
