ITR or prelude SH?
hi, im new to this board and im looking for a new car..... i dont kno too much bout japanese cars cuz i been a euro head for a while...... i was thinkin bout an ITR or a prelude.... id have about 25-30k to spend, so i coudl probably get a decent used one of either and slap a supercharger or in or something..... can anyone give me any advice? experiences? opinions? pictures? anything to help me decide? i wont track the car or anything but just want something sporty and fast for freeway driving, twisties, etc...... reliability and potential are also big issues.... thanks...
For that money, why not an RSX-S? Or a Scooby (buy it and still have some change for mods if you really have up to 30K budgeted)? Or a Supra TT (93-96 in your price range)?

If I had to do it all over again. ITR. With ECU, intake, and radials it's very possible to hit high 13s. But if you're not into going fast the Type SH is pretty nice and luxurious compared to the ITR. Get the leather too, it's sweeeeeeet.
I think the ITR comes with a reciprocating saw in the trunk as a little bonus, for enlarging doorways in order to fit your head thru them once you buy one...

I say Prelude...all the way. The ITR is sweet and everything, but check out this thread on the ITR board:

There are some pictures half way down the page. This sort of thing scares the crap out me. The pictures may give you nightmares.......
Ultimately it's up to you, and I hope that we helped you in some way.

apexii- who still keeps it real with both. *ahem*
I had an SH...man do I miss that car. That car is friggin SOLID! I mean the ITRs are pretty rigid as well...but strictly for daily driving i'd choose the TypeSH. That seems to be the consensus here.
I cant even begin to compare the interior comfort of a 5th gen Lude to a Type R. It's like comparing a lazyboy to a 7th grade classroom chair. In the Prelude, I could drive for hours and not even notice it...on an ITR however, it starts to take its toll after an hour or so. ITR is perfect for weekend road racers
