Default Need help from any one with 3rd Gen Civic / 1st Gen CRX Knowlage

Okay, I just swaped a motor outa a 1st gen CRX I had into a 3rd gen (84-87) Civic Si. Now it wont start, I thought it might be the timing so I went to set it but Im not sure what to do about the cam sproket, cuz when I have the two lines lined up with head the distributor rotor is nor pointed to the #1 but rather to the next one over at the #3, so Im confused here. And I think I finaly found the TDC mark on the crank pully, normaly a easy task, but not if the previous owner spray painted it silver.
Anywyas, now it doesnt seem to be getting any spark either, so yet another problem to slove. Normaly Im prety good at this stuff but Im used to dealing with 92+ Hondas, not old *** ones. So any help here would be apreciated, thanks a lot.
