Here is the Helm's manual entry:

P0118 (6) Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input

Possible cause: Open in ECT sensor circuit, ECT sensor, ECM/PCM

Hope this helps a little.

I think that is pretty much it, check your engine coolant temp. sensor and go from there. You might just need a new one.

the ect lets your car know when its warmed up enough to run in closed loop, so, if your ect is bad, your ecu will think that the caris never warming up, thus explaining your high idle. hondas ect's go out pretty often so try a new one. DONT GET AFTERMARKET THOUGH. If you cant afford it at a dealer hit me back cuz i wrok i a dealer and ill hoook you up. OEM parts like that will last a lot longer.

What they probably mean is the grounding next to the thermostat housing. If you look carefully you'll see 2 wires that are grounded together on the thermostat housing. If its loose then tighten it back up or take it off and clean the contact points. Sometimes if that grounding is loose or corroded then you would notice your engine idling badly, engine hard to start or the MPH needle jumping back and forth on the speedomoter. Hope this helps out!

There's a valve with 2 wires in the left side of the engine head, check it out if there's no cut wire or something, or try to take out the valve and clean it...
