well mine's engage around 5200rpm. Really depends on the ECU you use.

Okay for the last time it's 4900 I'm looking right the damn helms. It may look like 5000 on your tach but it's 4900.

5th gen preludes engage at 5200 though.

You can see right here on my stock dyno VTEC has engaged before 5000 rpms.

the JDM p13s as well as the usdm obd1 p13s all engage at 4900, and fuel cut at 7600. Not sure about the 5th gen ludes though.

satan is pretty much right on the ball. but it's actually more between 4900 and 5000 on your dyno chart. more or less 4950ish. but still 4900/5000 is typical. and for the last time. fuel cut is not 7600rpms.

LOL, this gives me like 4 different answers. I think mine engages around 5200, not sure about fuel cut off. I took it up to about 7800 and no fuel cut off, so I'm not sure. Anyone has any hard proof? Besides the dyno chart??

and how did you verify that? cuz on the few stock USDM and JDM ECUs I tried out, it all cut of at about 76xx rpms according to my datalogs

Yeah, I agree. I got around 7,800 and had no fuel cut off.... I dont wanna try to rev up that high but I might have to

This is OT, but has anyone tried running chipped P28s or P72s?? If so.. how did they feel?? Just wondering cause I have an idling problem with the JDM P13.. but when I plugged in my friends P28 w/ Mugen chip.. idled perfect.

actually sorry, I would like to correct myself, the stock revlimiter is at 7700rpm. I finally took the time out to look in my manual, I always assumed when I logged like 76xx rpms, that meant 7600,

And yeah the stock vtec point is 4900, if you have a vafc or something you can probably benifit by lowering it to about 4600-4700, thats the spot that I find good on the dyno. I picked up about damn near 25hp at the vtec switch point by lowering it a bit and playing with the fuel.

And finally that wierd idle with the p13s has something to do with the EGR mess. I remember we had this problem on my boys hybrid too, and we swapped out to a p72 and it was golden.

i'm 100% positive that my JDM p13 from a 1995 model lude had the vtec x over at exactly 5200rpm at WOT......112mph speed limiter too, whereas some are 117mph and supposedly some are 110mph......now with my chipped p28, it's at 4900 but is still a bit too high.....

p13 ecu's xover at 4900 rpm's. speedlimited(jdm) at 112(actual mph). now what you guys must realize is that stock tachs and stock speedo's are off. not by the same amounts allways. one person's car might cut out at 118. one might cutout at 115. but the ecu cutoff points are the exact same(in actual mph)

JDMlude92, Thanks for the all info. I just want to make sure that the idling problem is normal I dont need to do any major diagnosing. Also doesnt H22's have secondaries? I havent heard anyone mention about them or when they open up. Would my secondaries work if I used a P72??

Do you have the stock a/f ratio's on base dyno runs for the USDM & JDM engines? (Sorry this is a little off topic)

next time i'll take pictures for you guys. i'll try and get another 7,9xx for you guys. maybe my ecu is just weird(doubt it though). when i shift. it's normally right at 8k on the stock tach. which usually nets around 7,750ish datalogged. but every now and then i'll be able to sneak a 78xx or a79xx in there.
