Has anyone done this? I'm just using a jl 12w0 to add some thump, so i was wondering if i shape a box about .75 cu ft to fit in the spare tire space?

I have seen several articles on it, but haven't built an enclosure like that.

Might check http://www.sounddomain.com. Might be able to find a walk through of someone else building one. I used that as a starting point when figuering out the construction process on my kick panels.

I built one for 2 Orion 10s. The enclosure is about 1.5 cu.ft. Actually I am building a whole false floor system with an amp rack and the spare tire subs. First time I have ever tried this, I should have it done in the next week or two. i'll post pics when i am done.

Here's a good how-to. Although instead of glassing a baffle I just used a sheet of MDF and cut it to the shape of that cover that is in the trunk already.

Yeah i'm only putting in one 12" so I don't really needto fibreglass anything... just make a top cover with the 2/4" MDF.

That looks nice!

Do you have any pictures in better light? I can't make out the general shape of the box or anything. Did you paint it? or cover it in vinyl/carpet?

That lowrider article is nice that has the 3 subwoofers in the spare tire well. However, my hatch is gutted so the sub and amp will need to sit lower to allow a cover over the amp / sub that lays flush with the rest of the trunk. I need to figure out what 10" sub to go with that requires very little space and build a small enclosure.......
