I printed off all the CEL codes and still cant figure out what the problem is. the light blinks 16 times and I don't see any designation as to what code it is, I think they would be short blinks. sorry if this is vague

 

Maybe it's a code #1 ?

 

code 16 is fuel injector - could be bad injector or something in the wiring or injector resistor box

 

If its a DX then fuel injector probs are quite common. If you have a Helms go through the flowchart on measuring resistance and voltage at the injector. Or if you are lazy(like me) and you have several spare injectors laying around, toss one in there and see how she runs. Just make sure that its a dx injector that you are using. If you need some I have a few...

 

the engine is the D15B1 and the light flashes 16 times but the speed of the light doesn't change.

 

Then the fuel inj. is your prob. Replace it and reset the ecu. If you need other help PM me.
