Default Swapping Differences *please look*

Is there any differences between how you would go about swapping motors on a USDM 88-91 civic dx and a STD base model? I see dpfi to mpfi wiring but they all say dx model on the write ups, I was wondering if it is exactly the same info for the STD model as well?

also can someone who has a STD and swap in a d16a6, sohc zc, or a dohc zc post here so I can ask you some questions. thanks

to my knowledge the standard and the dx have the same wiring, although different horsepower.

? i just recntly got a6 out a wrecked 89si to go in my 89std. i took it out myself so almost all the wiring that could be kept on the engine is there. so when i drop it in would it be possible to just plug in were the resistor box is(allwiring from injectors to resistor box is intact), as it is on a si. or do i still have to rewire even though i have it all.also will i have to change the shift linkage and axles to si.

you dont HAVE to change the axles, but its recommended. If you do change teh axles, you have to change hubs too.

Shift linkages are the same.

what tranny are you using or did i miss that part?

Who are these guys? The HF came with MPFI the DX is DPFI so the DPFI to MPFI is not necessary. However the hubs and axles will need to be replaced with either a DX or SI or EX(90-91) setup. Everything in what would be described as the "spindle" by most junk yards will need to be changed out. This is not a big deal. be sure to get the old axles out of the DX or SI to be used a cores when getting rebuilt axles. Trust me I have been through this. BTW if you can find a 90-91 EX it has the 10.2 inch rotors and is a good upgrade in the brakes. The ZC is the easiest swap and I have two of them. They only make 130-135 HP but are cheap and compared to the HF will be a huge increase in HP. The B16 will need motor mounts from an after market supplier. Search Search Search.
