If you're going 500whp, this is the size that you will need. You all can asked the force induction people about the XS engineering intercooler and see how good it performs.

Pardon my ignorance, but will that fit in a 92 hatch or would it require cutting out some of the bumper? Also, what size are the pipes? 2.5" or 3"?

it will fit in a 92 civic with ALOT of cutting. i have the same intercooler on my 99 coupe, the endtanks are 2.75 in.

Remenber, it's brand new and fully polished except the core.

If you want to go big intercooler for high whp, you will have to cut for the stock bumper. There's no way around it. Aftermarket bumper has a lot of room and cutting is minimal.

What all the people do is to remove the bumper support all together.

I believe yes but you have to remove or cut the bumper support.
