So this is only in reverse or every gear?

Sounds like a throwout bearing dying.

either the throwout bearing or you are low on tranny fluid.

tranny fluid toped off and brand new throw out bearing... i get it on first gear at a slow take off or a hill... sounds similar to the 5 speed reverse gears..

It's not entirely uncommon to have an improperly machined a.f. bearing and/or improper installation can also kill a bearing in short order. I still say it sounds like the throwout bearing. You described the exact symptoms I had when the throwout died in my '67 Jeep and my '84 200SX.
