new tranny
ok so i drive a 91 crx si. my trans is about to go out ( poping out of gear, grinding etc..) so i went to Stage racing shop in kirkland washington. they told my labor would cost 270 and the trans will cost 150-300..so is this a good price? about 500$$ for a new trans installs

depends on whjat is wrong with your current tranny. If it only needs a new input shaft bearing, I charge $80 including parts.

I think that would be a fair estamate. 150-300 for a used but good tranny is a good price and the labor to get the old one out and the new one in dosent seem bad at all either. Considering they would have to drop the engine side ways a bit to get the tranny out that seems pretty fair. $500 for parts and labor seems like a fair deal...I wouldnt say a great one though.
