I know there's one or two pics off these pistons around. I can't find them, I've searched....

Also, are D16A1 rods stronger that D16A6 rods? I thought I read that they are....

88-89 integra wasn,t d16a1 engine it was a d16a3. the d16a1 was the 86-87 engine

d-series rods are considered marginal rods. although, out of all the d series rods produced a1 was said to be the strongest. i am currently running that on a boosted a6 just waiting for my srp's. i bought mine it was alreday shotpeened so i was lucky. that rod should hold up in the mid 200s with no problem maybe more with a+ tuning.

 

The best OEM ors to use on a D serie are the b18a-b/b20 rods

 

if u go with the integra rods u have to have them bushed to work with the d series pistons.

 

What kinda comp do the 89's produce in a ather wise stock a6?

 

PM7 pistons in a stock d16a6 give 10.7:1

 

A PM6 and a PM7 piston....

 

just to get an idea.. here is a nice clean SOHC ZC (PM6.. d16a6) piston for comparison..

 

 

Anyone have an idea of what the HP #'s will be after using the PM7 pistons in a A6 stock block and head???

 

+.1:1 of CR give about 1 hp, so you passe from 9.1:1 to 10.7:1 could give you ahout 16 hp. But you'll need a better cam and ECU

 

I have a PG7 ECU. Lookin into getting a cam as well already....

 

so my b18 rods will work in a d16a6?

or you can use PDN pistons from a 99-00 civic gx and not need for them to be bushed...and have a 10.5 compression in an A6 with a6 head and z6 headgasket...

i've taken apart 3 88-89 D16A1 engines and all of them had PM7 pistons. i dont know where p29's come from..

wut would be the compression on a z6?? or would that set up work on a z6?
