alright i got my t1r on a week or so ago and am strting to get tired of the rattles . everything else on the exhaust is fine it lines up good but that damn rattle is killin me. is it alright if i remove the heatshield between the fuel tank and b-pipe or should i just take the hammer to it ?

 

just remove the heatshield. how is your clearance from the muffler pipe over the LCA?? mine has been rubbing since day one and im still waiting for my new exhaust from them!!

where did you purchase this exhaust?? is this new and directly from AJ?

 

i bought it new off another ht member. was still in plastic and never on his R. It seems to have preety good clearence over the lca and im only getting the rattles from the heatshield.

 

man, im kinda glad UPS damaged mine... i got to return it and get my money back... it looks like u guys have got a lot of headaches w/ it!

 

Removing the heatshield helped quite a bit w/ mine but it still rattles a little, get used to it

My opinion, the exhaust sounds great (aside from the rattles) and makes decent power so I can live w/ a few rattles.

 

removed the heat sheild when i put the exhaust on and im rattle free.... maybe cuz i have a gsr

I got really sick of the rattle,esp. when my ITR's my daily driver.bought my exhaust in April;AJ's admitted to me that the muffler was crooked,if u have the same defective one that I had.If tip of muff bends toward the right-side/driver's in the curved cut-out of bumper,then might be same defect as mine.

Gave back the exhaust & got Spoon N1 + T1R b-pipe.......it fits perfect,NO RATTLES.I like the sound,and I doubt the power difference from T1R's new exhaust i had before and this set-up is that much different;just glad there's no more rattles!

Im told its a wicked system - even tho the ratling part is a knows problem... Do you really need the heatshield?

i love this exhaust and it fits farley well, like i said the only prob is the rattle on the heatshield on the b-pipe. im gonna take it off tomm and c what happeneds

I have been talking to Alan for over 8 months now about my problems and NOTHING seems to be done about it! We have talked about:
1)The serious rubbing issues with my LCA

2)The crooked muffler that is now melting part of the bumper cutout

3)Very large exhaust leak from the b-pipe to the a-pipe, the entire flange is covered in black ash from the exhaust leak!!!
You have sent me a new gasket and bolt over 8 months ago, but that has done NOTHING to alleviate the problem.

To say the least I am pretty upset and am STILL after almost a year...and what has come of this?

 

I've still got my rattley exhaust too... I've just gotten used to it. How I wish I would have listened to my girlfriend when she told me I shouldn't go buying a $700 exhaust so many months ago

Exactly the damn hanger from the b-pipe right over the LCA is hitting every damn thing there is

 

damn guys, i feel special. mines not nearly that bad lol

 

Use a hammer and bash it out if you are worried about removing it. That's what I did.

 

I'm waiting for my replacement as well. Silencer is stuck. Been stuck. Will continue to be stuck until a new one comes and replaces it.

WHERE'S MY REPLACEMENT AJR? I EMAILED YOU MONTHS AGO!!!

It's too bad there's so few of us with these problems, or we could probably make a bigger stink and actually get something done instead of being told to wait a week to hear something every two weeks.

lol... I've had this piece of **** rubbing and bumping up against everything possible under my car for 8 months. The sad part is, when we first recieved the exhausts, I think most of us were given the opportunity to get a refund or a different exhaust, or wait 'a few weeks' for a new one. Obviously, I made the stupid decision of not asking exactly how many weeks.

Ahh well, live and learn I suppose. AJ & T1R lost a customer for good, I was all ready to go to buy the whole T1R setup for my ITR, pending how I liked the exhaust. (8 months ago, of course.)

It should be just AJR since T1R is a product from AJR. TypeOne of Japan has nothing to do with the products that AJR sells.

 

No rattles here. I guess I'm one of the lucky few. I did remove all my heat sheilds before the install though.

 

Ive spoken to Alan about the problem with waiting orders.. Its a living hell for them. They cant even get a precise date from T1R in Japan on the next shipment.

On another note - I asked Alan at AJ about the Spoon B pipe for my car, and he told me that there wasn't a chance of rattling problems, it was a gived. The spoon b pipe would either rattle from day one, or at the very most within 3 months after installment.

I guess Im screwed either way..

 

I guess my T1R was one of the few lucky ones.I haven't experienced any rattles since I put mine on,the only glitch I have is that the tip is off centered about a 1/2-1 inch to the left which caused minor bumper burn.
