I'm looking into doing an f22 to h22a swap, but I'm not so sure if I have the skills and/or knowledge needed to do this by myself. I was wondering what people who have done the swap would rate it (1 being easiest, 10 being hardest) and I was also wondering if there was a good general information page where someone has explained what all they went through when doing the swap. Thanks

 

well, i haven't done a f22-h22 swap but i did do a h23-h22 swap, which is about the same. I didn't have any prior engine swapping experience and i did it by myself. It took a few days because of minor non engine related stuff. It was alot easier then i though it was going to be. Since then i have had my engine out multiple times and i have been able to do it in as little as 4 hours. so on a scale of 1 - 10 i give it a 3-4.

i recently did my first f22 to h22a and there was nothing difficult. the only problem you might have is the quality of the motor your going to purchase. my h22a had a bad ignitor, mounting studs had to be replaced, and the transmission was stuck in 3rd gear. i would rate the project at 3.

 

Going to be doing this swap next Saturday NOV 8th!
