im bout to get the wings west kit from a friend of myne and i was wonderin..he has is painted glossy black...what i wanna do it primer it down and paint it flat black what kinda paint i should use and should i sand the paint thats on there down or should i paint over it with the primer and not sand it at all what would u guys suggest?

 

flat black rattle can over the old paint should be just fine.

 

It depends what kind of paint was on the bumper in the first place. If it was lacquer and you put enamel over it you will have waves in the enamel. If you really want to be safe sand it, but I would just paint over it and see.

 

you have to WET SAND it .. then respray.

 

This is true.. forgot to mention that. Wet sand first. You might want to take a SMALL amount of lacquer thinner on a cloth and wipe it down before you respray. But becareful not to use too much or rub too hard or you will strip all of the paint off. Then let dry and spray with the cheap *** primer of your choice, gray is my choice.
