damn that sux... I wouldn't know where else to get it. My friend works at a Chevy dealer and he says they have the FM stuff in stock. He can get it at cost, $5/qt. I'll be putting some in this weekend.

Too bad some of us have to pay full $11.34 for the stuff...

My local dealerships don't stock it either, they have the non-FM. Just order it, they'll have it in the same few days as you would have spent complaining about the fact that they don't have it. Shoot, I used to pay $40+ for BG Synchroshift and wait over a week to get it...

I'm pretty sure S10 pickups w/ manual tranny call for the FM stuff, I don't see why a dealer wouldn't have it in stock.

The dealership in Maine carries it right in stock. If your really interested in someone helping you out. I would ship some to you after a payment was received. I can go get it priced for the amount you need if your serious about it.

I have the same exact tranny setup you have, and thats right where i go for my friction modifier.

part #12377916 gm syncromesh friction modified

http://gm.parts-performance-accessories.com/

you can only buy a case of 6 online. i paid 48$ shipped for 6 of them. only used like 2.5 to fill my trani up. and it stoped my 5th gear grind at high rpms.

EDIT: i just noticed you checked this site before. i just looked agian and its only 6.48$ for a qt from them so thats like 38$ plus shipping for 6 of them

Im gonna cry, I payed that much for fuggin 3 quarts of that **** at a local dealer.

Napa DOES stock the normal Syncromesh. Same partnumber. LIsted as Napa stuff.

I bought the normal stuff, and it cured my DA9 LS grind in about 1500 miles. Granted mine wasnt that bad. All in all it wasnt a bad 45 bucks spent, but If I would ahve know Napa sells it for 5 bucks I would have went there.

heres a fax about it in the EF section https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=549469

Kwik Kar Lube & Tune here in The Colony, Texas will drain your fluid and refill it with GM Synchromesh for $35 total. Took the guy about ten minutes to do the whole job on my Si. Normally a manual trans flush and refill is $25 so it's an extra $10 for the synchromesh.

Call around local lube shops to see what they charge. They buy the stuff in large quantities so it doesn't cost them $12 a quart. It's nothing special...most lube shops should keep it on hand.

That comes up as some sort of "cover" when you search for it. 12377916 is the correct number for friction modified.

As an interesting sidenote to this thread:

I was talking to a bunch of my F-body friends about where to get a good deal on this stuff and they just laughed at me. Turns out that they, and a lot of other high-performance domestic guys, use Honda fluid. Too funny.

Go to your local parts store and pick up 5w30 Pennziol motor oil. Because that is all synchromesh is, is pennzoil with some additional additives that are hard on honda tranny seals. Also the friction modified Synchromesh is not going to make your tranny stop grinding. You see the friction modified synchromesh has a friction modifying additive in a fluid that is too thin, which is not going to stop grinding and accelerate synchro wear, which is exactly what Redline MTL does. Bottom line you put this stuff in your tranny you will have to rebuild sooner than you want to.

65 bucks for s&h... and if you say it's going to wear everything down quicker, why are you the only one saying that? ive read about 30 threads on h-t that say this is the best stuff, i have jdm itr tranny w/lsd and i dont have the money to go buying a new tranny... how much are synchros to replace? i would like to know why you say this stuff is so bad when everyone else says its great?
