WTF... Space between my Rear shocks and TCS LCA's? (teins)
I was getting ready to put on Teins and TCS rear LCA's this weekend but I wanted to do a quick test fit of everything. Well when I took the rear shocks put the bolt through them with the LCA attached I noticed alot of space! (You can see the amount from the pic). I had another stock civic bushing so I put it in there out of curiousity and there was not as much space but still about 2 cm space. What I was thinking of doing was taking the extra bushings I have and chopping off the extra rubber and using them as spacers to make up for the space. If you guys have any other ideas I would love to hear them. Thank you for you help in advace
MY KYB ZGX's fit on my D2 LCA's just fine...that's odd that your Teins aren't meshing. You sure they're the rear ones?

Yeah I am sure that they are the rears. I might just have to use a press and press out those bushing and put some stock ones in there
What year is your Civic amd what LCAs did you buy? 96-00 LCAs are thinner then 92-95 LCAs, maybe they sent you the wrong set?

I have an 92 civic and the LCA say right on them EG6 92-95.

Hmmm that's odd then...try adding some washers to get rid of the gap...

That's gonna be alot of washers. Maybe 2 or 3on each side of the lca. I think i'm gonna try and hack up the stock bushing and see waht I come up with.
Damn i wish i could remember. I have 2 sets or rear stock shocks in my garage. one set from a unknown year teg (94-2k) and a set from my 2k civic. and the gap in the bottom of the shock is wider on one set than it is on the other. I dont think this info will help you out much because you already have what you have but mabe you have the wrong combo of shocks/lcas
The tein say 92-95 civic on them just them same as the Lca's. Either I am going to have to put washers in the space (easier hten hacking up stock bushing) or put a stock bushing in the LCA's. I think I put the stock bushings in the lca's easiest fix.
It looks like you have the wrong bushing. I have changed a few of those and some of them are different sizes in the rear lower control arm for different points.
Nerv2g.......I would call tein and e-mail them the pic you took to show them your problem...... they should be abel to tell you whats wrong..........i would do this before you start to cut up the bushing like you seid you wanted to do. my .02
this happend to me on my 95 civic hb. If you read the tein web page carefully(like i did not) the teins are made for jdm eg6. witch is different for some stupid reason then our 92-95 civic. I sold mine cause I got tired of dealing with it. my be you can find jdm eg6 arms on ebay.
um... eg6 rear lca's = itr lca's.
you shocks look like they are for eg's, but your control arms seem to be for 96_ that have the thinner bushings.
You may wanna make sure you got the rest set of arms.
if you did, well that just sucks.

exactly, those lca's look like 96+ width. Got another pic of them from other angles?

Ok I figured out what I have to do with the stock bushing and one small washer the lca fits nice and sung with the shocks
Thanks for the help
Thanks for the help
I'd make sure the LCA's fit your car first....compare the new LCA"s with your stock ones.....cuz to me it seems like the new lca's are for an EK not EG.......
On the Teins.....EG6/ITR set ups are an "eye" set up not "fork".........Tein SS and Basic set ups are only for USDM style LCA"s.....the upper Teins like FLEX and RA HA etc etc are for "JDM" LCA's....

I compared them to my stock lca's and the everything lines up perfectly. The only probelm is that the middle bushing the one that holds the shock is to short. I have the tein basics so I am good I understand the difference between the SS Basic's and the RA HA and Flex.

I would love to do that man but I am in the military in Germany. If I order a part today I might get it in 14 days if i am LUCKY. I have to do the best with what I have man, if I was in the states I would do exactly what you said. The military mail system in Europe sucks
Thank god only 233 more days left in this hell hole

I wouldn't put them on for safety issues. The bolt is resting on a such thin LCA, it might break after few hard bumps. The washers might only solve the free play issue, but not the support issue. Think about it and reconsider. Use you head.
