Default Viper 350HV / Responder Review

Just picked up this alarm on Monday. Install took most of the day, but turned out well. The brain is the Viper 350HV, with the outboard reviever, two stage shock sensor, six tone siren, anti car jacking, code hopping, starter kill, warn away, and nuisance prevention.

Wiring the trunk was another 20 bucks, and I had two blue leds installed in each a-pillar, at 12 bucks each. The responder add on was another 100 bucks installed. This included the remote, and the external atennae.

I went with the hybrid setup because I didnt need the remote start feautres of the 790/791, so I figured I would save some money and go this route.

All in all I think its a great alarm, the warn away is awesome, keeps the alarm from constantly going off. The range is awesome, despite what many people say. My antennae is mounted behind the rear view mirror and looks nearly OEM. I recomend this setup to anyone looking for solid, yet basic alarm, with the pager ability, in the end, you are probably the only one that can stop a car theif.

Here are some pics-

The remote- Sorry for the hazyness, too close up...

One of the LEDs and the antennae-

And heres the factory **** we pulled out, I think its still aftermarket however. Im selling it for 50 bucks shipped if anyone wants it.

Thanks for looking, any questions/comments are welcome.

Havnt gotten to really test it out, but its goes from my room, through a wall, throught the family room, through a wall, and to my car in the garage, it seems fine to me, I think alot of people bitch about it because it says a mile range or whatever, which it doesnt have. But if you look at it in the scheme of things, and compare it to the range on a standard remote, I think you will be very pleased.

Not really. I was priced 467 for the 690, plus tax, wiring the trunk pop, and the two leds I got, plus wiring them. So the 690 would have been even more.

hey just an FYI for you all... the DEI Rattler369D (which is the update of the 359D) will now have standard:

- a dedicated output for the rear defroster
- a trunk pop output wire (which the 359 can't do)

and alot of other things i forget right now lol

Hopefully this stuff will make its way into the other DEI lines
