Well I think it is just rubber and is called the rubber upper spring mount. Well at least that is what I think it is called. It sits in between the spring and the upper base mount. Well hope this helps.
hmmmmm.... i had that and sometimes still get that but when i took it to the shop (they are my friends so they wont talk **** to get rid of me) they said its my bushings (MOST LIKELY) so they said they will oil them up for me next time....
if u do find out what it is lemme know so i can do the same and get rid of it.

you know i bet it is your upper shock mount bushings, i completely upgraded my whole suspension and the only squeak that i have is the one from the upper shock mount bushings. if you were missing the rubber spring hat, you would be hearing a lot more than squeaks.

when did it start squeaking and why do you still think that it is that part. i bet it's your upper shock mount bushings or another bushing. i gaurantee you if part number 8 was missing it wouldn't be squeaking, it would pop when you turned the wheel. i know i am an acura tech and have actually driven a customer car that had a deteriorated rubber spring hat. it's gotta be a bushing somewhere, or maybe even a shock. when shocks leak all the pressure and oil, they really squeak.
that's probably what it is. man those shocks really squeak when they blow. trust me, customers will blow those things so fast because they like to drive their new $30k+ car over speed bumps at 50 mph. and they cry like little babies when their brand new acura has a squeak. easy money though, get paid 1.5hr for replacing a strut and i'm done in 15min.
