Default My quest continues...

Well it's been about 2 months now in my on-going quest for a Teg. If I had a dime for everytime I'm walking down the street I get "Neutral-dropped" by some guy in a shitty mustang, I'd be a ******* millionaire. All of these stupid ******* ricer-redneck shenanigans is really making me want a ******* car REALLY BAD. I just got another job cause my summer one closed, and as of now I got about 4K. I'm saving my pennies for a GSR around the 80 - 90K mile mark, and I have yet to find a single teg in Maine. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to travel 200 - 300 miles to find a good value. Would you guys travel that far? Most of my friends think I'm ******* stupid for wanting to travel that far for "such a shitty car". One of said friend's owns a 1990 Chevy Cavalier wagon. Yeah...he's one to talk... All this searching is wearing me out, I just gotta buckle down and keep working my *** off to save money, I practicly have no expenses as of now. Oh well...I know my day is coming, and I'll find that ******* in the Mustang GT with the 4 foot spoiler and the Flowmaster, and make him never want to show his ******* head around here again!

EDIT: Haha as of now I am currently employed!!! Just got a job as a Prep/Line Cook with 8 bucks to start including pool/health club privledges! BOOYAH!! Mmmmmm the VTEC is so close I can taste it!!!

lol... i can't believe i read all of that...

I guess it kind of reminded me of the situation i was in about 4 years ago... Keep hunting man.. In 2000 i bought a 98 gsr with 24k miles... Was the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me in my life...

Still to this day my life is good because of that car... Keep saving, and within a year you should have your dream car... look for good deals, and if you have to drive 300 miles to pick one up DO IT!

Goodluck

Keep yer head up. Don't lose faith. You'll get that GSR or LS one day.
Then you'll show all your friends who said for that piece of **** with that integra.

I searched for about 3 months and during that time. NO one wanted to sell. lol

seriously man, probably everyone on h-t has had some interesting stories about how they got their first:

i was looking a number of months for that 4door gs-r in my price range:
turns out i ended up buying a theft recovery and rebuilding it for $5K total(best thing i've ever done).

Just wait for as long as it takes, and travel if you have to, I'm from upstate NY and traveled 6 hrs each way to Massachusetts so I could bring back mine, and I would do it again in a second if that's how it had to be.

The tegs are IMO the best hondas ever made; do what you gotta do to get one!

That reminds me of two years ago. I was on a race team that only ran rsx-type s and i couldnt get the funding or anything close and one of my friends was friends with the dealer. It was my first car buy on my own, i then wanted to get a gsr, but couldnt afford that either, finally settled on a 99 integra ls for $16,000 back in 2001. till this day i dont regret it at all, lovin my teg over any rsx!! youll find what you want soon im sure, drive for it if ya have to!!!

if you want to beat a mustang, i seriously doubt getting a stock ls or gsr will do it. If youre looking at gettign Forced induction. thats' going to be 3-4k alone. If youre talking about taking it down the track, i can see the teg outhandle it but seriously, that's after putting some money into suspension.

i'd sooner let the guy with the mustang dwell on his own pride and get a teg because you like it. not because you want to show him up. Just dont want to see another totalled teg, tis all. g/l

200-300 miles? that's nothing, try flying from Washington, DC to LA, then driving that bad boy back. It was summer of 2001, and my friend paid $9,000 for a 95 GS-R with 40k miles on it.

I wouldn't advocate traveling cross-country though, we ended up getting pulled over 3 times and running over a dead deer in Kansas.

It's definitely worth it to go 300 miles though!

Emmmmk...let me rephrase my first post...I'm looking for a 94+, GSR, I repeat! GSR, OR TYPE R, 2 DOOR, WITH EIGHTY TO NINETY THOUSAND OR LESS MILES< WITH A MANUAL TRANMISSION....maybe you should read my post a little more before you jump down my ******* throat...believe me...I've been looking on Autotrader and Ebaymotors for 2 months ******* solid now and have yet to find one < 8K...like I said, I just got a new job, and I'm gonna have to keep saving my money. Ever heard that saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I realize you're just trying to help, but you don't have to jump down my ******* throat.
