Shitty gas mileage on d16y7 . . . ?

i have been driving my car (97 cx) with a cel (o2 sensor) for a while, and am noticing how bad my gas mileage is. is this normal? does it run the car rich in limp mode? thanks in advance!

I know a guy who had the same issue on his Si (EM). Once he got an O2 simulator, it was back to normal gas mileage

first sign of a bad o2 sensor is a major decrease in gas mileage, get a new one and everything will be well again.

The 02 CEL does not cause the car to go into limp but does make the car run extremely rich which is the reason your car is getting horrible mileage recently.

Also causes a very shitty idle.

tell me about it! i had to crank my idle screw like 5 complete rotations! it was idling at like 2500 before i did this. now its at 800, but ill put it back right before i put the sim in. why would it run rich with a bad o2 sensor? whats the logic behind this?
