The 89 integras came with a 1.6 DOHC black valve cover motor that is a d16?? That motor will not bolt into a CRX but i dont know if the tranny will bolt up to your D15. Just make sure you have an actual ZC tranny i guess. If you can see the block it the tranny came off of it will say ZC, it shouldnt say d16...

actually, that swap (89 integ 1.6 dohc) is fairly common into 1st gen crx's...

Holy Crap... look at the mis-information in here.

The ZC (I assume DOHC) Is a D series motor. There is nothing similar to it in the US except for the D16A1. This motor came in the JDM Si's and made 120-130 hp. D series trannys fit, and for the love of God, search.

ZC (sohc or dohc, doesn't matter) is a D series motor

Integra motor, is a 1.8L, and is a DOHC. It's a B series, b18a1 to be exact.

Where did that come from?

We aren't talking about that motor.

They were referring to the 86-89 Integra D16A1. The earlier model was carbed, the newer version was PGMFI and put out aprox. 118 hp (at the crank).

To the original question. The DOHC ZC was from teh 88-91 civic/crx Si's in Japan, and has also bene offered in UK versions of Civic's/CRX's, as well as some Landrover's. The DOHC ZC puts out aprox 130hp (at the crank). It is a D series motor, and any D series tranny should bolt up, with the exception being the 86-89 Teg tranny. (The D16A1 & the ZC have totally different mounting points for both motor & tranny mounts.) HTH

whew thank you USDM 4G VTEC finally someone speaks the truth, its amazing how many people comment when they have no clue what they're talking about

as clearly stated earlier the ZC is also known in europe and japan as the d16a8 and a9 one is the japanese version one is the european.

the old integra d16a1 motors are sometimes referred to as Brown Top ZC's, these do not bolt into our cars so there's no need to discuss them.

There are 2 types of ZC's one is the DOHC the other is the SOHC.
The SOHC parts are interchangable with your stock d16a6 the two engines look almost identical aswell. All of the above mentioned motors are D series and are not interchangable with B series for the most part (I have heard of people using B16 cams on their ZC)...
