Well i sold my stock connecting rods today , but i cant figure out how to get the damn wrist pins out ? do you have to tap thme out or something ?

 

its called a press. and some special tool. the local machine shop will be happy to help

Pete you might be able to heat them with a blow torch or something and tap them out. Tim said he heats them up then presses them out, but you might be able to do it yourself. Oh and what did you get for your rods? cause I want to sell mine too.

 

fuggit im just gonna send them with the pistons on thme too, not like i have use for them . let him deal with getting them pressed out. but $150 i sold them for.
every penney helps right now .

 

some shops will press them off for like $20 total.
I made a fixture for the piston to rest on with a hole thru it for the pin to press out thru and used the hydraulic press at work (shop).
easy as pie.

you can also heat the rod end with a torch and that will allow you to slip the pin out too.
