Default Guys with high horsepower ... fuel delivery question

You guys with 500-600 whp / stock fuel tank. Do you have problems of fuel pump sucking air when you launch real hard with only about 1 galon of race fuel left in the tank ?

When i launch its fine, when i get on the brakes, it gets a lil air, but i like to keep a fair amount of gas in the tank to avoid that..

Ron, are you running an in tank or an external with a sump?

my question is more oriented towards in-tank users , unless the strainer is exactly at the same place with an inline pump. Inform me.

I have stock tank with sump in it with aeromotive external pump, filter, and full fuel lines, ect. My car is driven on the street, and if i have less than 1/2 tank of gas when slamming on the gas or taking a turn hard air gets in the lines, and i stall. I have to keep turning it over until the fuel pressure goes back up than it will start back up.

I run an intank Walbro and I keep it at about 1/4 - 1/2 tank, never have had a problem. You should try and not run your car with that little gas. Brian

I have stock fuel tank and lines so I have no problem even with the needle on empty.

sorry for being kinda off topic but

hybrid901> when you drive in the streets, do you watch your exhaust temp?

if yeah, like around 4k in freeways, do you notice that it get's really lean?
and what fuel setup are you using?

my friend's civic who dyno'd 421hp 3xx tq, keep on having problems who also blew his motor and ran 3 cylinders back from soCAL and norCAL!
he has a bbk intake pump, stock fuel lines. It was tuned by a really good tuner (hondata), but he kept on having problems.

you can PM/email me if you want.

It has to be littlebluecrx with his 255lph intank that ran 9s,someone correct me if im wrong.

BTW...Dont run it with only one gallon in the tank, please put alittle more in,thats barely enuff to fill the reserve pan inside the tank...I say use one gallon if you plan to blow it up by leaning it out when it starves.

Sounds like an expensive proposition to me, cause when I leave the track I lower the boost and fill up with 94 octane. The car's my daily commuter, and I don't want to waste 2-3 galons of my 20-bucks-a-gallon c16

First of all hi guy's great site for Honda hardcore ,its Meanteg who introduce me here .so far i am not disapointed of what i read .

For the main question , i had the choice to call Meanteg on the phone or to answer here . i decide to answer here as my first post and to gave some ( maybe ) good info .

i did not Drag race a lot with my teg , anyway it only does 14 low on the 1320 . I do more Solo 1 with it , i built it in that purpose i like hard cornering . when i do solo 1 i cant race with my fuel under 1/4 level , when it get under 1/4 and i take tight curve and high G's . My car start stalling because the strainer grab some air .

on a 10's car the condition when accelareting may be the same as me taking a high G's curve . So he should keep at least half a tank to prevent that problem
