Ignition switch replacement
hey anybody else have to replace the switch?WTF cars only 10 yrs old and wont move.MFing imports my 701/2 camaro is 33yrs old and no problem, never had a key related problem with any cars owned and I've owned some shitty cars in my day. Is this common with hondas.BTW 93 del sol
I've replaced mine before after a thief broke the ignition switch off. I bought the switch at the dealer for about 100 bucks. The hardest part when installing the switch is the removal of the old one. The switch is clamped around the steering column with two break-a-way bolts. There is no way to remove the bolts with a screw driver or anything because there is no kind of real head to it. So what I did was I took my dremel rotary tool and used a cut off blade to cut through each bolt. There was just enough room to get in between the two clamps. If you have a really small circular cutting tool I suppose you can cut slits in the break-a-way bolt heads but I wasnt able to squeeze my dremel in there. Good Luck...
