Well, guys...I might have to sell the R.
Maybe I'm just talking crazy, but I really need to get back into school and start applying myself.
I feel like I don't use my R enough for fear of theft/vandalism.
I have my hybrid I can AutoX or roadrace with a low investment... Then I have my CRX to daily drive.
Any feedback on why or why I shouldn't sell my baby?

The hybrid is the closest thing to an ITR on a budget thats available. Lightweight, dohc vtec, good handling etc. At a 3rd of the price of an R. It's really up to you. The R seems like a luxury more then a necessity right now. But I know you wont regret keeping it in the long run. If I were you I'd keep it, simply cuz its rare and awesome. And will be harder to come by in the coming years. Just my .02 cents. Best of luck regardless of what you decide. Peace.
Everyone brings up some great points...
* The hybrid is a fraction of the cost.
* The R is a collector's item and I'm the only owner of mine.
I probably could afford the R still, but I don't know if I should really keep it at this point. I should really focus on school and not car payments/insurance. I'm concerned that I might have to struggle and I really don't want to do that. Right now I'm struggling just bartending and making ends meet.

If I were in your situation, I would do the following:
1. Pay off the car ASAP
2. Take it off the insurance and tag fee, etc.
3. Store it until you're done w/ school.
I believe once it's all paid off you don't have to insure it (if you don't drive it). This was extra insurance cost and payment won't be a roadblock.

Look at the Buick GN(X)'s -- they don't have nearly the cult following as the Type-R does, and yet 13 or 14 years after the first one rolled off the assembly line, prestine examples are fetching mid-high double digits.
An ITR will never sell for $75K. Newer, faster cars are comming, and the only people who really place any value on ITR's are guys like us. Would you pay over $30K in 20 years?? Not me.
Find a way to keep the R! Take out a school loan if possible, sell off one of your other cars, pay the R off asap, all are suggestions you should seriously consider. I think you'd be kicking yourself everyday if you let the R go...just ask my Dad about the '57 Corvette he once had!
sell everything and go to school... by the time u get out there should be an rsx-r waiting for u
Sell the car, and go to school. But remeber, sell the car to me. I will gladly take it off your hands. I will take care of it for years to come. I have a GSR that I plan on keeping pristine for years to come. Just a thought.
No car is worth financial slavery. Invest in your future success, THEN at some point you'll be able to better prepared financially to drive what you want. The R is a great car and very fun to drive, but it's hardly worth risking your future success!
Sell it and earn your college degree. With the money you can earn at a well-paying job, you'll easily be able to buy yourself another or at that point, a better-performing car. Dont spread yourself too thing over a car... yes guys, the ITR is still just a car... he already said he doesn't use it enough to justify it or the fear of theft/vandalism. Invest in your future Dragon... EV.

I'm starting to think more and more about selling the hybrid...then I could have quite a bit of money to lump on my loan for the ITR... hmm... I would keep the CRX for daily/winter driving though. It's not worth all that much for me to get rid of.
I don't want to keep the R because I think it'll be a goldmine/investment. I want to keep it because I love that car. I'm the only owner and I love knowing what's been done to it, etc.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I really appreciate it. Maybe I'll just concentrate on making $$ and going to school part time. I should be okay once I take this new job.

The R is nonetheless a GREAT car, but education is more important.
You will have your education a lot longer then you will have ANY car (in addition it's not something that anyone will be able to steal from you). Sell the R, then order the new RSX Type-R if the rumors are true...
