Default My new manifold? Need help- 56k killa

Its done by maximum performance, i like it but i am concerned about the welds at the flange. You can see the runners don't line up perfectly and they filled it with weld. Will this hurt the performance of the manifold? Also, you can see where at the wastegate flange the weld drip through to the inside? Should i just smooth it out? This all maybe normal, this is my first non-cast mani.-
Thanks for any help

that is one funky manifold. The welds in taht manner would affect flow. And the positioning of the wastegate is something that i've never seen before.

What did you pay for that ?
I would recamend cutting off the WG arm and putting it closer to the manifold....just an idea. As for the welds i would try and smooth them out a bit.
it looks to be mig welded.

Hey thats the wildest octopus I've seen and man would I be mad. Send it back and have them clean up the welds on it for you. Good shop wouldn't send that out to a customer. Think about switching to inline pro.

damn- i don't remember asking any ******* body if they liked it, its going on my... MY ...motor.

Just curious as to the grinding. I also agree about the wastegate. I plan to have it point straight out (2.5" or so)

I think the design is cool, somthing different. just work on the WG part and you'll be good.

is it me or is the 2nd runner tappering down on the hump?
isee a few things that IMO would affect the flow of that manifold, But idont know much anyway. the design is cool, becuase its different, but flow characteristics are what matters.

Who gives a crap how it looks....... if it works who cares, and judging by whats been seen from boostfed's car.. i'd say it works.... I'd use pringles cans and duct tape for a turbo manifold if it worked good....

I think you should look into the Lovefab stuff. Great manifolds. I started distributing for him here in Canada. Great manifolds for any application.

everyone here says go before show and they they judge a manifold as ugly who cares how it looks especially when it is gonna be under the hood, if it works and flows nicely

Ya know.... Oh well. I know it performs well, the place i bought it, there car puts out mid 400's to the wheels @ 16psi with this manifold-

I like it because its not another knock-off or sparks.

overall looks good just a lil messy ... the weld inside the wastegate i think shoudl be groudn down before it gets hot and possibly gets stuck in your turbo .. caused by contamination while welding >?

I think its funny how all these people are "anti rice" and then go on to make comments about the LOOKS of a flippen engine component! Boggles my mind. I say work with what you got. Get an air grinder or dremmel in there and smoth out the bugger weld, and addresse that WG placement and I think you are good to go

i was hoping a few of the guys who ran this manifold would comment- It will look real good mated to the hair-dryer

And it was fairly inexpensive, being coated and what not-

I looked into lovefab, sfp, sparks, nu-image...etc. I liked this one- I like the few reviews i have heard and its sturdy as hell.

To all the haters.......you guys from Va.?

back to the post...

Call the company who made the manifold and ask them if they will do it. chances are they will say no and back it up with the "they will not reduce flow because so and so made X whp on this manifold for X years" (this shows you the hp potential and the reliability of the manifold).

i would digrind those welds down a little bit; honestly i believe they would inhibit the flow of it. Do not grind them down too much as it could affect the strength. nice mani

huh, personally i think it looks kinda neat. I think all you'd have to do is grind down the welds and they'd be fine.

To the haters, wait till it's on the car to judge.
