stock resonator?

I don't think you can measure any power change <period> A resonator is there to resonate with the high frequencies in your exhaust and cancel them. it'll sound like **** on a metal garbage can lid without it.

this depends, ur sound will increase and decrease depending on res lengh and piping size, i bought a full catgback exhaust w/ a 16 in res and 2.50" "i think that same as my 6th gen coupe stock res" but due to the bigger piping the exhaust was MUCH louder, i swaped in the old piping untill i could get a new 18 in res put on 2.50 inch piping, now i'm finr, but just the different pipe sizing from stock to 2.50 made a huge differance. . . . .

thanks JUN EK9 for a re-edit of that message, after I thought about it for a little I see he really meant:

no, that would mean..."My exhaust don't sound like that"....which is improper.
But on with the subject at hand..... I personally do not have a resonator on my custom 2 1/4 inch piping with an Es Oval. The sound is deeper and that's it. High rpms sound like any other typical exhaust on a 4 cylinder.
My buddy's Del Sol just cracked the resonator, so I pulled out the mid pipe and welded in a straight pipe where the resantor is supposed to go. Other than that the exhaust is 100% stock. Sounds the exact same as it did before. Not deeper, not higher, not raspier, nothing.

I'm glad you clarified your answer, you had me wondering if you were an expert on the sound of pissing or a tuned resonator - and you've convinced me that you know nothing about resonators.
If you were to just cut the resonator off and leave the rest of your exhuast stock it would be a lot louder. Whenever i get custom jobs done i always have a resonator put in for the noise factor. I don't know if you really loose that much power with using one, i know i have less headaches.
