I heard they will be making gears to drop in our tranny's. What company is this?

hmm, i'd really love an affordable final drive kit...maybe a 4.4 FD, that DOESN'T cost 1,000 bucks.

I believe it was Joel Satan_SRV that said he would be getting his euro-r gears reproduced this winter.

How will we know for sure that you could fit them into all H22 tranny's? A few years back I had a D16 (crx si) and D15 (89 Dx civic) tranny apart, and was trying to scavenge parts between the two, but alot of the bearings etc in the tranny case were diff. Is this a for sure thing, or is there reason to be skeptical?

I won't know more till I get it apart and check it out. we're talking like the entire shaft.

i know the ATS 1,3,4,5 gear set for the bseries costs around 1300. an ats final drive (4.7) probably around 800.

but the bseries guys are just frankensteining their trannies with the ITR trannies so it's alot cheaper for them to get better gearing.

the closest thing i've seen for the H series is the pro-drive kit, which is by all means, expensive as hell.

i'm not sure how much harder it would be (or easier) but manufacturing a whole new set of gears has to be alot harder than manufacturing a 4.4-4.5 FD for the H22, right? or is there something i'm not aware that makes this process more difficult than just copying the Euro R gears?

A final drive is one thing for overall shorter. The Euro-R is importantly because the gears are closer ratio, whihc is equally important for gearing for your powerband. A FD just makes you go through the gear faster. gear to gear ratios decide where you are in the rev range at shift.

If you're really having someone look at making gearsets, Joel, please bring them a F22 5th gear. A lot of us guys would like a lower cruising RPM on the freeway!

yeah, i guess it'd be nice to have better ratios, but i've never noticed a powerband issue on my stock H22 . i just know to shift @ 8,000 on the stock tach and i'll land right in the money.

i don't mind the 4,000 rpm cruising speed.

i have an m2b4, and the only thing its lacking is a 6th gear. i find myself reaching for it all the time. i like 5th for crusing around here, but 5-6k on the highway sucks.(100-120 )

Well, I commute close to 80 miles a day for work. It would be better to do it @ 3500 vs 4900 (I'm cruising to work @ 80mph+)

Euro-R fifth is .812...

anyways that's enough of this. I have a more technical thread in all motor. We shouldn't be speculated about any gb or anything.
