cuz i dont really like the front styling of the 954 and i may be able to get a good deal on a 954 motor pretty soon. *cross fingers*
tonydatyga, thanks

not that im an expert or anything but wouldnt you be worried about if the f4i could handle the extra power.... the bike obviously isnt built for the engine, therefore some parts on it could be a lot weeker than a 954.... wouldnt want anything to "snap" on me going 120..... but then again thats just me and its all up to you and how hard you push the bike.....

obviously the bike is not built for the engine, thats why i asked if this swap could even be done... but why do people put engines in cars that they dont belong in, in the first place? to be different, to do something that hasnt been done before...
maybe this will help u understand y i could even be interested in this..

I've never heard of it done. The only common swaps ive heard is of gixxer 750's into 600's and 1000's into 750's. But none of those are easy like a b18 in a civic.
ya, i've heard about the gixxers before... and on cbrworld.net, i found some guys talking about f2's and f3's with 900 rr motors in them.. i think a newer model with a "swap" would be pretty cool.
The swap can be done, although I doubt the mount points are exactly the same or as close at the gsxr's are. As with most swaps, fabrication will probably have to be done. I don't think the shift linkages and cables will be exactly the same and I don't know how well the motor will fit inside of the fairings. The frames on the two are different but the weight is basically the same. So to say its not made for the bike, there's points both supporting and rejecting this arguement

I think by insurance, he means you are paying for a 599cc Motorcycle, when u really have a 954 engine. So cheaper insurance than if you just had a 954.
