exhaust rattle strikes, GOD NO! lol
Oh god I hate this ****..
I guess the only bright side I ever looked at when my 94 GSR got stolen was that I didn't have to deal with the infamous 94-95 header rattle, lol..
but it striked tonight in my 99!!!
****!
I hate having to find it, blah - it's at about 1-3000 RPM and it's actually kinda loud... sounds like its coming directly under the car so hopefully its just a heatshield
guess I'll check tomorrow!

I had this same problem a couple of months ago. I just took off the heatsheild and voila! no more rattle. only downside is on rainy days, your muffler will get soaked and will rust quicker.

my 95 GSR hade the rattle, i removed all the heatsheilds, new header gasket, and tighened all the bolts down really good. well it still rattled really bad. its the A pipe on the header (the bottom part) i bought a used 99 gsr header off of ebay and put it on, no more rattle.
try the heatsheilds first hopefully its that

Ok i'm not sure which rattle i'm experiencing so please bear with me.
I just got my Greddy Evo put on my 95 GSR
Now it was fine when I went to work, then when I'm driving home... it starts!
First I hear that rattle, that is common with all the integra's i guess. I had a 95 LS, that 3000 rpm rattle thats kinda like a buzzing.
Well occasionally I hear that now, but I also have this rattle that is really loud. Like sometimes when i'm just idling is when its the loudest and rattles the most. I'm going to assume that has to do with the cat heatshield and the header?
Anyway, can someone explain to me what to look for, what to do to fix the rattles (both!), and if possible show me a picture of what i should be lookin at and fixing? I'm still fairly new to the diy stuff, but my buddy does most of my car work. Basically I wanna know what to look for and how to fix it and get my hands dirty while i'm at it.
Thanks

check all the heatsheilds first. if they are all tight and dont rattle. its prob the a pipe on the header. jack the car up and hae someone rev it while your under it and see where it comes from.
I had the same prob in my 1996 4dr gsr. What i did to fix it is to move the muffler "rubber bands" to the highest hanger. Under the car there is 2 "settings" for your muffler. When i move it to the higher hanger the muffler stop rattling .
My muffler was rubbing on the axle to make the buzzing noise.

My vote: A pipe on header. I did the same as oMekoneDC2 on my 94 gsr except I replaced the factory setup with a dc 4-2-1, Rattle gone!

Man. I feel sorry for you. You should have taken care of it right away.
Heat shield rattles can cause a lot of problems including long term engine damage.
You need to get your car to a factory service center as soon as possible.
What happens is when the heat shield gets loose it is a symptom of a bad performing exhaust where the flow is incorrect and the pressure builds up and over time this causes your engine to overheat and if you've driven it like this for more than say 1000 miles the effect may be irreversible.
Just kidding.
Why wouldnt you just get this fixed? Why put up with that racket?
When you do get around to fixing it the heat shield has an upper part and
a lower part. Remove both of them to make sure your rattle doesnt come back.
These parts are totally useless anyway.
