turn on the headlights and windshield wipers go on???
okay guys,..a friend of mine is rebuilding the front of a 96 accord that was wrecked,..but some how the wiring got really really messed up and now when he turns on the headlights,..the windshield wipers start to go,...and when he presses the horn buttons,..the turn signals light up,..i was trying to trouble shoot for a couple ours but it has me stumped,..anyone might have an idea of what the hell is going on?
Hehehe I shouldn't laugh, but that sounds pretty funny.
In all honesty it just sounds like either you've joined together some wires you shouldn't have, or more likely, some of the wiring was damaged in the accident and now the wires are rubbing together without insulation.
Trace back from the windshield wipers (or the horn wires, whichever you want to do first) and look for frayed/bare wires. I'm pretty sure you'll find an area that's stripped from the accident.
I'm sure that's what you were doing, but just be methodical about it, be thorough and you'll get it worked out.

i had a similar problem. when i got my car back from the body shop the windsheild wiper would come on whenever they wanted. it was a ground that wasnt reconected after the accident (its in the front left wheel well near the windshield washer fluid.) just make sure its bolted to the chasis
