cam gear settings for itr cams......did search
just wondering if there is kinda a starting point where to set them, i know a dyno is the only real way to tell, but my other motor is beeing built and will be dyno'd on hondata. right now just running a chipped ecu and tryin to figure out where they make some good power
A guy i know said something about retarding for tq and advancing int or ex for hp but i think he is totally full of ****
Most likely people will say "every motor is different so there is no specific settings".

that is true, but there has to be some kinda setting........i know that from advacing the intake to +4 made it faster.........i know there are some people running these cams and i dont' care if each motor is diff, where are you running them, like i said, new motor will be done soon, don't want to waste money on dyno
get the car on a dyno - only way you will really tell if the adjustments that you are making are making power or losing power - everyone's engine is different so the settings for one engine won't necessarily make power on your engine

i'm well aware of that, but the problem is i don't wanna dyno and waste money on this setup, i wanna spend the money on my new motor, i just wanna know what people are running for adjustments, that way i have some to try, instead of just driving everytime i move the gear 1 deg
Two motors that I ran ITR cams on both liked the intake at +4. One liked -2 on the exhaust, the other liked the exhaust at 0.

While I was hanging out at a VERY reputable shop in socal I heard the tuner say that the smaller cams like itr, ctr and skunk2 stage 1's almost always did best at +4 for the intake and -1 for the exhaust.

definitely full of ****, I've never seen any mods that add hp. Only low rpm torque or high rpm torque.
+4 intake, and -2 exhaust is what I've heard is a good starting point.

Thank you x100 for not posting about how "every motor is different..." all people are looking for is a starting point to tuning their cams.. i know im not going to drop 150 at the dyno to pick up 2 HP.. Thanks for the useful info!
