Default Ran a 92 Civic CX, questions

It didn't seem like I did well enough, from a 45mph roll on I only beat him by 1 car length up to 75. My car is a bone stock 91 CRX Si, he had a 92 Civic CX stripped to a drver seat and dash runnin I/H/E and a D15B1 from a 91 Civic Base.

Is my car slow, or is his car fast?

After that we pulled over, talked awhile, made a couple new friends (his friend was following him). Street racing=bad, meeting new people=good.

If I wanted flamed I would have posted this on the CRX Resource, so helpfull comments only, please.

well having a stripped interior doesn't matter for the cx because it was a rolling start from 45mph. When it is rolling alrady it is all about power.

You are still accelerating mass, so mass does still matter (if that looks like a pun it was not intended).

I see why you say that, but when it is at 45 mph that cx w/ stripped interior isn't really going to help since the mass is already moving. Once it is moving then it is about engine power, and gear ratios. It doesn't take much to move the car once it is already in motion. I know someone with a civic that got beaten on the fwy by a van from a rolling start.
