'87 CRX
hey guys, i just bought a '87 CRX yestarday. 171k miles, 5 speed, runs good. has the d15a engine. i am completely new to imports. (my other car is a '77 chevy pickup). i just wanted to know any known problems with these cars or anything? right now the only problem i see really is that the tranny has lots of play (especially noticeably in first gear).
anyways, i am gonna search around a bunch. maybe one of these b18s is in my future

thanks man. i'll check it out.
on a side note, i kinda forgot to mention the condition of my new car. problems as of right now are needs heatlight, breaklight, seat belt retractor, and tranny is kinda messed.
first off, what type of heatlights do you guys use? local autoparts store, or is there something better (yet cheap!). i dont need/want those $300 halogens, but some brighter then stock might be nice, sence i have to replace anyways.
anyone know how to fix the seat belt retrator? right now the belt is stuck all the way out, the little spring loaded mechanism wont retract it.
and, sence i have little idea of the history of this car, i am changing all the fluids, ect. any preformance tranny fuild you would recommend?
any opinions appriciated!

I have an 87 CRX also. The main prob. that I have found is that plastic parts on the door sides are very fragile. They crack very easy.
I have some pictures of the car at my webpage.

Good luck with your car

Honda has a lifetime warranty on ALL safety features of all of their vehicles. This is something many do not know. I had an 87 CRX Si with a broken seatbelt retractor and the Honda dealer ordered a new one and had it installed completely the next day - TOTALLY FREE. Do not bother with going to junk yards and finding seatblets, not to mention worrying about breaking those damn little mounting tabs off of the interior plastics. Just go to your dealer and they will fix you up, usually within two business days.
