Another RSX vs. Type R....but a real race !!
This past Saturday I was at my local autocross and an RSX was there also (actually, two of them). ( http://www.autox4u.com/2001results/912001.htm )
One was classified as CSP (street prepared) and the other as GS (stock). I am not sure what modifications was done to the one that was in CSP. The one in GS was driven by a pro. The pro was 3 seconds behind me, but the CSP car was 0.1 seconds in front of me. Granted, we are not all professional drivers, but it is a good indication of the potential of the RSX-S, at least in semi-modified state. (Note: I placed 23rd fastest raw time overall and PAXED 5th overall out of 124 drivers. Did decent job, but the fast GS drivers => Matt (el pollo diablo), Carlos, Aaron, Allen, and Jeff did not show.)

Don't get me wrong, he's a cool guy, but it's a little odd that he posts in this thread ( http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread...&threadid=4252 ) as "rsx808" talking about how the RSX is the fastest fwd car. To his credit, he's only been to two events and I'm sure he'll get better.

I think the main thing that is holding the RSX-S back is the lack of a LSD. With the higher torque, a LSD would work great for pulling the car out of a turn. I am impressed with the car. Maybe it is slower, maybe it is faster, doesn't matter, if we want to buy an "Integra" in the future, this is our only alternative.
Dave, I have been studying and it has amazing potential. The Mugen R will be out soon and we will soon get a good view of what will be available for it and it's aftermarket. As for most of us I hope that the REAL R makes it here not like that Aussie R. For me the RaweR the better!!!
Hows the Miata doin???

The Miata is doing great. I just finished doing the timing belt (rust and maintenance do not mix !!) and I am making plans for brake pads, suspension braces, new tires and a roll bar. The roll bar should be in by March to be ready for next season. I hope to do some time trials next year to get a competition license and then do full racing in year 2003. See you soon.
